Disadvantages

• It is inefficient, as compared to the other sources of energy.
• Combustion of biomass products requires some land where they can be easily burnt.
• Although it does not lead to emission of gases like carbon dioxide, it relases methane gas which can prove to be harmful.
• It is difficult to store and transport the biogas produced.
